Hey guys! I know it has been awhile, but I am super excited to share something new with you all. I am going to introduce a new section to my blog, a column where I share some information about my personal habits and routine on health and fitness.
I know a lot of people may say this, but eating healthy and exercising well, really does make a difference. As a kid, I always participated in some sort of athletic activity, whether it was soccer, dance, or skiing. As I grew up though, I began to take a lot of interest in focusing on my health and became totally in charge of how to get my body into good shape. I’ve played around with yoga, kickboxing, boxing, athletic training, and pilates – all of which I love. But, I find the easiest way to workout with a busy schedule has got to be training yourself to get into a routine at the gym. I like going to the gym because it gives you the flexibility to go work out whenever you have the time to squeeze in an hour or so, without giving you the ability to make any excuses.
Eating clean is another major part of my healthy routine. I have been pescatarian for about two years now. I choose not to eat meat because of my view on how it is unsustainable for the environment. I won’t get into a whole spiel about it…but it’s just a choice I made that makes me feel good. I also love eating vegan food, and at home I pretty much only cook vegan. I substitute yogurt for coconut yogurt, milk for almond mylk, cheese for Daiya (it’s a vegan cheese brand), and I also sometimes cook meatless proteins or opt for tofu. The only reason I’m not 100% vegan is because a) I LOVE sushi and b) going out to restaurants (unless they serve vegan food) can be a little difficult or bland because of all the modifications that need to be made. But, I do hope that soon I can fully transition my diet into veganism, because I believe it is the healthiest and most sustainable dietary choice for our health and for the environment.
